A piece of the Emrald Isle.... This is one of my Christmas gifts from my aunt. She bought it in Ireland. It is made out of sod that has been dried, cured, sculpted, sanded and varnished. So it actually is a piece of Ireland. Why may you ask, do they do this? Well, they don't have any trees, or few to speak of. This Celtic cross is 12 inches tall, and 2 inches thick. I am guessing it was not cheap. This picture does not do it any favors, it is very beautifuly carved. I will cherrish it always.
